This past year I devoured many astral projection books to learn about and understand the phenomena of out of body experiences.
Therefore in today's post, I'm sharing the astral projection books I found most helpful. These are the books I would recommend to anyone just starting out or wishing to know about the topic more in-depth.

Best astral projection books
In my opinion, a good astral projection book educates and doesn't complicate. It doesn't mystify astral projection but explains it for what it is–a natural occurring phenomenon that we can all access.
The five astral projection books below are the ones I keep returning to. They are full of wisdom and written by authors who have dedicated their lives to teaching others about out of body experiences.
1. Adventures Beyond the Body
Most important, I now knew that my physical body was just a temporary vehicle for the real me inside, and that with practice I could separate from it at will.
This book is hands down my favorite for simplifying how to get out of body. I have consistently found that William's target technique to be the easiest way.
He doesn't get super into energy, chakras or other things people worry over. Instead, he focuses more on what we can do out of body and how it will change our lives.
In addition, I really enjoyed reading William's personal thoughts on astral projection and his out of body experiences. He also gives a list of interesting and life-changing ideas of things to do while out of body.
2. Journeys Out of the Body
It's ok to have strange experiences, to consider seriously as natural those events and activities beyond the present ability of our physical sciences to replicate or measure.
Robert Monroe has been called the grandfather of astral projection for our time. He was also the founder of The Monroe Institute, a nonprofit education and research organization devoted to the exploration of human consciousness.
He wrote several books about astral projection and Journeys Out of the Body was the first one. This is a book you can't put down.
I found it fascinating that a man like him, who worked in the radio business and had no spiritual background, began to have spontaneous out of body experiences.
His shift in beliefs about reality and the astral experiences he had make this book a must-read.
3. The Treatise on Astral Projection
After the physical body has fallen asleep, the astral body always projects into the physical world.
This is a lesser known astral projection book, but I highly recommend it. You might already know the author, Robert Bruce. He's authored Mastering Astral Projection which is a well-known and popular book on astral projection.
The Treatise on Astral Projection was one of Robert's first books, therefore it has most of the same info that's in his newer books. It's an extremely enlightening read and really helped me to understand the way astral projection works.
4. Demystifying the Out-of-Body Experience
Very few life experiences can compare to the feeling we have once we produce our first lucid projection through effort and consistency.
Similarly, Luis Minero gives a very logical framework for understanding out of body experiences. I appreciate that he takes out the mystic words usually associated with astral projection and replaces them with modern terminology.
This book is very thorough and in-depth. You can also find interviews with Luis Minero on Youtube that show the depth of his knowledge and expertise.
5. Hacking the Out of Body Experience
Learn to actively engage in playful fantasy. Don't consider this a waste of time; consider it a necessary part of rewiring your brain.
This book is the mac daddy on everything you could want to know on astral projection. Bob Peterson shares multiple techniques as well as everything he knows in general from decades of astral projecting.
I really like the way he touches on all subjects and topics. In short, anything there is to know about astral projection can be found in this book.
You can read my post here on what astral projection is and my own insights for having out of body experiences.
