The easiest and quickest way to begin changing your life is by reading the right books! The best spiritual books are those that help you release limiting beliefs, see the world with a new perspective and that remind you of your unlimited potential.
My life has completely changed thanks to the books that I've read over the last six years. In this blog post, I'm sharing the best spiritual books that I would recommend to anyone who is looking to radically alter their lives.
What is the best spiritual book?
There is not one "ultimate" spiritual book out there. There are a ton, thankfully! With that being said, I'm going to share the ones that have absolutely blown my mind.
A good spiritual book is one that will not only expand your mind but that will also do an excellent job at conveying just how powerful you truly are and how much your life can change with the information given in the book.
In order to manifest change, our minds and beliefs have to be on board. The spiritual books below are on this list not only because they expand your consciousness, but also because they do a damn good job at helping to shift your beliefs.
These are my must-read, all-time favorite spiritual books! (In no particular order).
You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
I've said it before in a million other blog posts and I'll say it again–this book did more for me than any therapist ever did!
This book really touches on all things spiritual, from mindset to self-love. Her simple approach also makes everything she teaches so easy to implement. We don't need to berate ourselves or feel like shit because of our behaviors or beliefs; we can just simply choose to change them, starting now.
I also really recommend the workbook that helps you go even deeper into your own self-limiting beliefs. Just the very act of connecting past experiences with current beliefs is enough to eradicate them.
Dying to be Me by Anita Moorjani
This was a recent book I read that caused me to cry with joy and just pure relief.
Anita manifested cancer within her body and had tumors the size of lemons throughout. She had a near-death experience and when she chose to come back into her body, she knew she had the power to choose wellness again.
Her cancer basically melted away within days and weeks. The first half of her book is about her life and how she was always trying to please others while feeling bad about who she was. The second half of the book is about her near-death experience, the revelation she had from it and her new take on life.
It is hands down a book that everyone should read.
Infinite Possibilities by Mike Dooley
This book was one of the first that I read when I learned about the law of attraction and it was a total game-changer for me.
Mike has such a fun, simple way of playing with the law of attraction and his motto, which you might've heard before in the The Secret, is thoughts become things.
This is one of those books that I've highlighted all over and that I frequently re-read just for the inspiration it provides me. His easy manifesting technique is what changed my whole life six years ago!
Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain
If you want to change your life quick, you need to know about visualization.
Pretty much all of the books on this speak on the power of visualization, but this book really goes into detail about what it is, how it works and how to do it.
The reason why I called this blog Dwell in Magic is due to the fact that we can choose what we want to experience, play it in our mind's eye daily, and watch it come into physical form. You can't tell me that's not magic!
The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles
This book is a classic written in 1910, and I'm pretty sure most entrepreneurs and business people out there have heard of it!
While the title may seem vain or shallow (which wanting to be rich is neither of those things) this book is so powerful because it explains the law of attraction without using the words "the law of attraction."
This is also one of those books that is great on audible. I have both versions of the book because while I'm cleaning or driving, I love to just listen to it as a way to keep my mindset and vibration high.
Wishes Fulfilled by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Another amazing book that I filled with highlights and earmarks and recommend to everyone. This book is unique in that he does an excellent job on explaining our God power and his processes for manifesting desires we hold.
I also love how he talks about our soul's true nature and what is has come here to do. We are so much more than we think we are.
The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer
If you have ever struggled with anxiety, fear or simply being overwhelmed by your own thoughts and emotions, you need to read this book.
This book is about the voice in our heads that put us down, make us scared, stress us out, etc and how to transcend this voice so that we become an observer of the voice rather than a slave to it.
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
Like the previous book, this very popular book by Eckhart Tolle is about transcending the mind and realizing that all of our power is in the NOW. Not the past and not the future.
Most of us feel negative emotions because of things that either happened in the past or things we fear will happen in the future. This book brings you into the power of now, because that's all there ever is and is the most powerful point to manifest from.
Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It by Kamal Ravikant
This highly rated, self-published book by Kamal is one of the most simple, straightforward books you'll probably ever read on self-love.
Self-love can feel so difficult and hard to obtain, but this short book explains that it's just a matter of a few easy changes in the way you view, think and speak about yourself.
Creating self-love doesn't have to be this huge undertaking–it can be a simple pivot.
The Abundance Book by John Randolph
This book, while not having thousands of reviews on Amazon, is one of those secret treasures you find and wonder why most people don't know about it.
What I love most about this book is that John reminds you over and over that your source of abundance is NOT from mere mortals, not from money or jobs or any of the other common things you feel dependent on.
Your supply is ALWAYS from the Universe. He explains your true nature and where you true power lies, which is never in earthly things that can be taken away.
Neville Goddard books
I'm putting "Neville Goddard books" because any book you read by this author is a gem. The link I have here is the collection that I purchased because it has all of his most popular works included in it.
Similar to older works from the turn of the century, he explains the law of attraction without using those words and how to manifest anything you desire.
I always enjoy these more "classic" spiritual books because their wording is so simple and to the point. Their main message is "you don't have to understand it for it to work, you just need to trust that it will."
I hope you enjoyed this list of my favorite spiritual books. You can check out this post for my favorite daily self-care books, and this one for my favorite books specifically on the law of attraction.

Chelsea @ Life With My Littles
These all sound so awesome! And I am sure you'll love them all because really, how can you not feel good while reading books about becoming better and being happy!? Let us know which is your favorite!
Yes, exactly! Thanks Chelsea, I will 🙂
Another great book called We consciousness buy a medium who is channeling Wayne Dyer
Great list, thanks for sharing! 🙂 I'm looking forward to Gabrielle Bernstein's new one. I've read her others and May Cause Miracles is my favourite. 2nd fave is Add More ~ing to your Life. You do exercises and meditations as you work through the books.
I'd also like to read Rise Sister Rise. I read Light is the New Black a few months ago and enjoyed it. I didn't know Pam Grout had a new book, thanks for letting me know! I read E-Squared a couple of months ago and I just finished E-Cubed. How to Be Well sounds good as well.
Ooh, I'll have to check out May Cause Miracles and the other one you mentioned, I love exercises and meditations so that sounds like a good read. I figure she has to be a bestselling author for a reason. Yeah I'm really excited for Pam's new book because I loved E-Squared so much. I'm reading How to Be Well right now, I'm really liking all of the exercises she has throughout the book. Yeah I'm interested to read Rise Sister Rise, Rebecca's got an authentic-ness about her that I'm really drawn to.
Hope you enjoy them, Jessica! I'm adding How to Be Well to my To Read list. 🙂
That one is a good one in my opinion so far! I hope you enjoy it!
Just commenting to say that I'm currently reading How to Be Well (almost a year after I saw this post! lol). I saw it at my local library yesterday. It's good, thank you for the recommendation. 🙂
I've read Gabby Bernstein's books as well. I believe she's so popular because she's easy for women our age to relate to. Also, like how Marianne Williamson has made A Course In Miracles easier to understand by explaining it differently, Gabby does this as well.
Thanks for the recommendations! I already have one of these books & 2 on pre order! Looking forward to checking out the others on this list!
That's a good point, she's young and relatable. I really like when an author is able to translate an idea or point a view in a way that's easy to understand. Yeah no problem, it's a good month for new releases! Thanks for your comment!
Awesome list! I'm reading Thank & Grow Rich right now for a review and it's amazing so far. 🙂 I also really wanna read How to be Well!
Oh I'm so jealous!! I'm glad to hear you think it's amazing so far, I can't wait to read it! How to be Well is also a good one, I'm about a third into it and I'm really loving the way she explains things.
You should be a life coach. Whenever I am feeling down, I come to your site and leave feeling so at ease and motivated. I've been stuck in a rut lately and coming here helps. I find it so hard to find time and take care of myself, and read these motivating and inspiring books, but having them here for reference helps.
I love your blog Jess - I wish we could hang out in person! <3
Amy this was the best comment, thank you so much for that encouraging feedback. It's funny you say that about hanging out in person because every time I see you on Instagram or Snapchat, I think "she's my kind of person". We must have a lot in common! <3
This is an awesome list! Doreen Virtue's book looks SO good! I feel as if I'm jumping into the deep end by pursuing a creative career instead of a traditional career (I'm a social worker) - so I hope the book can bring me some peace!!!
Yes Robin, I can't wait to read that one! Not only do I want to pursue a creative career but I want to go about it in a non-traditional way as well (not striving and straining but rather allowing and flowing, etc). So I hope it can bring me some peace too! Thank you for your comment! xo
Awesome list, such a great help! I will include this to my TBR! This is a useful and excellent share. Will definitely share it with people I know.
Great list, Jessica.. Thanks for sharing.. I recently read The Untethered Soul and it really helped me to get some amount of control over my roller coaster chaotic thoughts which has made me so much calmer..
Yes, that book and ones similar to it (Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie) are life for me. It is so freeing to become conscious of your thoughts. Thanks for sharing!
